Snow-free Downtown Streets: The downtown streets & sidewalks of Holland Michigan stay snow and ice free during the winter because of a snowmelt system that keeps the downtown by ways clear. Pickle Town U.S.A. Holland is home to one of the largest H.J. Heinz Co. pickle preparation and packing plants in the United States. The plant has been in the city for over 100 years and annually produces $100 million worth of pickles, peppers, relishes, vinegar and baby food fruit juice at the plant. The 100-year-old cypress wood pickling vats used by the plant can still be seen today.
